Utter Nonsense

Today our ever-so-radical, unchecked, unelected, do whatever the hell they feel like doing, U.S. Supreme Court decided by a 5-4 margin that they were going to extend constitutional rights to the terrorists presently being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Last time I checked these constitutional rights were rights afforded to American citizens and not a bunch of crazy assholes that would like nothing more than to slit your throat while you're sleeping, smiling all the while.  As far as I'm concerned these 5 justices are unpatriotic and are further endangering the lives of the citizens of this country and the lives of our soldiers around the world.

Amendment 5

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life and limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Amendment 6

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

These were the rights afforded to these terrorists today.  Can anyone tell me, in these two amendments, where it says anything about terrorists or enemy combatants?  And when did Afghanistan become a state of the U.S.?  Oh, and when did we give Al-Queda citizenship?

I guess the only thing we can do now is to stop taking prisoners and just kill all the terrorists.

Anyone scared yet?

I don't know about you, but I'm slightly terrified with the prospects of our economy and the presidential election. Today the Senate tried to introduce a bill called a "win-fall profits tax" on the oil companies.  Does no one understand that corporations don't pay taxes?  We, the consumers, pay the taxes.  Any tax that the government puts on the oil companies, they simply pass off the cost onto us, thus raising the prices even more.  Jimmy Carter tried this back in the late 70's and it resulted in the oil companies stopping production of gasoline when they reached the cap on the profit.  Before they hit win-fall they stop producing thus causing insane lines at gas stations and shortages. I don't know about you but that's not something I really care to deal with.  Luckily for us they weren't able to get enough votes to block the Republican filibuster, thus crushing that bill.

Onto another noteworthy point: I think we have all heard of socialism right?  Well it's a scary thing and for someone who believes in individual liberty, I don't believe that I should go to work everyday and have my pay taken from me in order to support the collective.  In conclusion, I have a little homework assignment for everyone.  Take a look at the policies of one of the presidential candidates and side by side it with Karl Marx's "Communist Manifesto" and see how similar liberal policies are to that.  Trust me it will scare the shit out of you.

Here we go again

Well thanks to all the environmentalists and the government for putting so many regulations on this country's businesses, GM is officially going to close down four of it's manufacturing plants. Two in the United States, one in Canada, and one in Mexico. In my mind, this is a shame. The government's overwhelming urge to control everything and tax everything in this country is slowly destroying it. Over taxation and regulation and the lack of energy independence is driving up energy prices and it's making it that much harder for any business to stay around in this country. One of the examples being the four plants that GM is shutting down.  They are light truck and SUV plants. They are shutting these plants down because of the rise in gasoline costs.  No one can afford these types of vehicles any longer.  This is understandable but guess what?  Because people in this country are so concerned with protecting the polar bear and the spotted owl and forcing us to kiss the ass of the countries that we buy our oil from, not to mention most of these countries hate us, we have to force these plants to shut down.  It's beyond scary that the environmentalists have the power to shut down a company like GM. I hope these people are happy because I'm sure the polar bears couldn't give two shits that all the people who worked in those plants are now unemployed.  And what about the towns that these plants are in?  These plants employ hundreds of people.  The economies of these small towns are going to be affected by this too.  I'm ashamed that some people care more about some f-ing tree or fuzzy animal than they do about their own people, who have families to support and do the work that helps drive this economy.  Sorry, just venting.
